The truth is I am not a big fan of live recordings. The irony is I have a lot of them and they are very popular. Most of the time these were recorded in an effort to document the band when it wos sounding particularly good (#2 Live Dinner) or have a recording of a special event (Live at The Ryman). For one reason or another they became records. The Live Album is the oldest one and it was recorded with the incomparable Jonathan Yudkin and the legendary Roy Huskey, Jr. It captures a time when I only did acoustic shows and couldn’t keep my trap shut. These recording make me grimace and smile. They are a lot of fun and they emote a ton of chaotic energy because they were recorded and edited warts and all. I like to think of myself without warts. Apparently, for many people, that is the appeal. REK
